IMNZ : Carbo Loading & Race Briefing Dinner

The carbo loading and race briefing dinner was quite a non-event.  Unlike the carbo loading dinner at IMWA where the atmosphere was a fun one, this dinner took on a more serious note.  There was a sombre moment when all participants remembered the earthquake disaster and victims in Christchurch, and commended those who came from Christchurch to participate in the race, despite the odds against them.  These athletes have shown great tenacity in the face of tragedy.  Kudos to them!

All participants were treated to a Haka performance and were provided with details of the route, nutrition and rules.  Here’s what I managed to capture:
